As a Play Therapist I have offered this as an intervention in schools across Manchester, but now a lot of my work today involves working in post-adoption and helping children who have experienced developmental trauma and attachment difficulties.
Part of the work that I do is also working alongside the parents and carers and giving them the psychoeducation they need in order to understand the extent of their child’s trauma as well offering them a safe and confidential space to listen and provide emotional support to them.
Common themes I see in my therapy room are trauma, attachment difficulties, low self-esteem, anger and aggression, bereavement, anxiety, sleep problems, social and communication difficulties, attachment difficulties. I am a warm and empathic individual who is passionate about the work that I do and can provide a safe space for anyone who needs that one person to listen without judgment or blame.
Play Therapy:
Play therapy helps children under twelve express feelings they may find hard to put into words. Through toys, creative arts, role play, and movement, children explore their experiences in a safe, nurturing environment. Guided by a person-centred approach, therapy supports emotional growth, resilience, and healthier ways of communicating.
Therapeutic Parenting:
